JOB TITLE: DITSU Promo Crew

Every year DITSU recruits a panel of Students called Promo Crew to work with us supporting the work of the DITSU officers. These positions are PAID positions and applications are now open!

These jobs are open to all students of DIT. The work is offered on a case-by-case, job-to-job basis and tasks available include, but are not limited to:

  • Manning promotional or information stands as required
  • Flyering a campus on behalf of a campaign
  • Giving out ‘freebies’ or publications around the campus
  • Running/supporting the running of on-site entertainments and activities
  • Promoting an event activity or campaign to students coming into the college
  • Other tasks to support the work of the elected officials

The Person

The ideal candidate should:

  • be a registered DIT student for the upcoming academic year 2017-2018
  • be enthusiastic and energetic in how they approach their work
  • be polite and friendly in their working demeanor
  • be reliable with their time
  • show initiative and ability to self-direct

Desirable attributes:

  • have prior experience as a member of Ents Crew, Welfare Crew, Class Rep, School Rep, Student Media Crew or any other voluntary experience with the Union.
  • have experience with events, promotion or public speaking.

Availability

The ideal candidate candidate will

  • be available for the full academic year (ie. not leaving for Erasmus or Work Placement in 2nd Semester)
  • gave availability to work during Induction Week Sept 4th – 8th inclusive.

These positions are paid an hourly rate of €10 per hour and are offered on a case-by-case basis.

JoB Title: DITSU Admin Support Worker

Title:               Administration Support Worker                      Reports to:    Deputy CEO

Salary:            Grade 3.2 (€24,397)

Type:              11month contract, Monday to Thursday, 30 hours per week

The Role:

DITSU is looking to recruit an exceptional individual to provide administrative support on a fixed term contract.  The successful candidate will be required to undertake and excel at a wide range of administrative duties supporting the Deputy CEO.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide administration assistance to the Deputy CEO
  • Financial Control Assistance to the Deputy CEO
  • Any other duties and responsibilities which management deem appropriate from time to time

Essential Skills, Experience & Attributes:

  • At least 1 years’ experience working in an administration role in a busy and diverse working environment
  • A minimum of FETAC level 6 qualification in a relevant field
  • Proven experience in creating and maintaining administrative systems
  • Proven experience in financial control, including; handling cash, reconciling relevant paperwork
  • Must have excellent ICT skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Understand the importance of work place discretion and confidentiality
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team

 Desirable:

  • Experience in a membership led, democratic and/or voluntary sector is an advantage

DIT Students’ Union is the independent, democratic voice of DIT students based across a number of DIT campuses in Dublin.

The Student Support Advisor plays a key role providing a front-line information and advice service to our members and managing the customer service hub in the local DIT Students’ Union Office in which they are located.

The following skills, experience and qualities are essential for this post:-

  • A minimum of 3 years work experience working in a membership-based, democratic or other busy service-led environment.
  • Work experience in youth and community work, information, advice and support service provision or a related discipline.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills. .
  • Excellent IT skills and experience of using Microsoft Office suite, Google suite and database recording systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a varied workload in a flexible and diverse working environment.
  • Ability to work well in a team and to support and motivate colleagues.

In addition, a qualification in one of the following area: education, youth/community work, social care/science or a related discipline to degree level or equivalent is desirable as is a working knowledge of the third level education sector and/or working with students in a supportive environment.
